About
Lorie is a speaker, writer and busy homeschooling mother of seven children, including twins and two children who were internationally adopted - one from Haiti and one from Liberia. She and her husband are also currently in the process of adopting another orphaned child from Africa who will join their family soon.
Although her background is in elementary education, Lorie enjoys free-lance
writing and is a speaker at Christian Retreats and Women's Ministry Events.
She is a contributor to the online mission magazine, Wrecked.org, where her
article, I'm Done Playing Church, has become the e-zine's most read
article. Lorie has been a guest on Moody Broadcasting Network's Midday
Live Connection during their Women Making a Difference Series and her
writing has also been published in Hearts at Home, Truth Media's Power to
Change, and Proverbs 31 Woman magazines.
Lorie is currently contracted with a Christian publishing house to write
her first book to be released spring of 2012.
She has taught and ministered in Bible Studies for fifteen years. She is the founder of an orphan ministry which enables over 250 impoverished African orphans to receive regular food, clothing, and education through a partnership with Children's Hope Chest. Lorie has also worked directly with various Christian ministries such as FamilyLife Today's Hope For Orphans, Childrens HopeChest, Interfaith Hospitality, and Miracle Making Ministries. She also leads groups of US speakers on mission trips to teach and minister to women of impoverished nations.
When Lorie takes the stage the Lord clearly shines through her voice and touches the hearts of all who hear. Her warm and relaxed style makes women of all ages feel right at home as she weaves real-life stories around messages from God's Word.
Lorie, her husband Duane, and their seven children make their home in the mountains of North Carolina.
